OTHER RESOURCES

More information about Banteay Chhmar, Angkor Wat and Angkorian history can also be found at Devata.org.  Please see the following link for a good overview of the Banteay Chhmar Conservation Project.

Banteay Chhmar – Working to Save Another Angkor Wat

In 1937, historian, curator and educator, George Groslier, traveled to Banteay Chhmar. George Groslier (1887-1945), of French descent, was born in Cambodia.  He fell in love with his native country and spent his lifetime studying Khmer art and culture.  He produced both a large body of research, and later in his life, fictional works depicting Europeans in various exotic Asian settings.  His documentation of Banteay Chhmar has been an important part of the temple conservation project.  The text is accompanied by some marvelous photographs of the temple from more than 70 years ago.
